Today’s noon hour report: 30 knots of wind, gusting to 40, equivalent to 35-45 mph/55-65 kph. A mind-boggling 3500 metres (2.175 miles!) of water below our keel. Sea conditions “moderate to rough”.

Despite the days I need a meclizine tablet, I never regret being on a Viking Ocean ship! (But, ask me again after the Tasman Sea and the horn of Africa!)

When we did our 2017 world cruise, we had a fairly rough crossing to Hawaii and then to FP (there were some calm days, though, so hang in there). A couple of the officers told us that the Pacific starts getting calmer in February. But who knows if any of the ‘old’ trends apply anymore.
