Episode 379 – A Year In Review: We’ve Been Busy!

Since December 24th of last year, when we embarked on our World Cruise from Fort Lauderdale in the United States (Episode 145). Ted and I have visited 29 countries, 1 principality (Monaco), and 1 territory (Gibraltar) on 5 continents (North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa).

We’ve spent time in Austria, Belgium, Cabo Verde, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, England , France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Türkiye, United States , and Uruguay.

Like Hank Snow, we’ve been “everywhere”, and have (most of) the passport stamps to prove it.

Our most memorable moments were probably the incredible aquamarine blue glaciers in Chile (Episode 189) and the opportunity to visit Saudi Arabia (Episode 235), but our most unexpected experience was the decision to rent a 2-year largely to be unoccupied “home base” in British Columbia (Episode 343).

We also renewed our wedding vows this year, in a truly magnificent event aboard the Viking Star on April 8th. (Episode 245)

Right now, we’re in Merida, Mexico, where we’ll stay until almost the end of April. The rest of 2023’s plans (so far) include a return to British Columbia during which we’ll host my cousins from Germany; a panoramic 15-day tour of Ireland; a 7-day Alaskan cruise; and a river cruise from Basel to Amsterdam to tour 9 different Christmas markets in Switzerland, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. We’re in the process of debating adding a 20-day South African tour and safari to that in September.

We’ve been busy, for sure. If all goes to plan, we’ll continue to be busy, just perhaps not quite at 2022’s pace.

To all our family, friends, and blog readers following along, thank you for keeping us company on our travels. We wish you all a wonderful 2023 filled with whatever kinds of adventures give you joy.

We Just arrived in Merida today from Winnipeg and we are here until mid February and then we are off to SMA and Guadalajara.
